Fairview United Methodist Church was organized in 1889 as a Methodist Episcopal Church. The present church building was completed in 1946, containing the sanctuary, church library,church office and a gallery-hallway. Like many Methodist churches in the area it has a strong Greek Revival architectural influence. The Educational Building was completed in 1975 and contains the Church Fellowship Hall, church classrooms,kitchen,utility storage room,and restrooms. The church slogan "People Loving People" was presented at the Western North Carolina General Confernce in 1989 and approved. In 2014 Fairview United Methodist Church will celebrate it's 125th Anniversary plans are already underway for this exciting event!

Easter 2019 Fairview United Methodist Church
The United Methodist Women will celebrate 150 years of service this Sunday March 24, The Methodist Women organized in March 1869. Fairview United Methodist Women organized in ( 1956 ). In 2007 Charter Members of the Fairview United Methodist Women were honored with frame certificates of 51 years of service to the church and community! Six Charter members were living in 2007 - Rachel Adams, Margaret Harris, Viola A. Owen, Mary Noble Parker, Yvonne Snider and Karen Woods. This years marks 63 years for Fairview Methodist Women. Today three charter members are living Viola A. Owen, Yvonne Snider, Karen Woods. Fairview has always had a very strong and active United Methodist Women , members in the group today are: Louise Adams, Evelyn Allen, Fran Christian, Lynne Driskell, Carolyn Jones, Viola A. Owen, Martha Snider, Mary Snider,Yvonne Snider, Frances Tysinger, Karen Woods.

Seventy Years Ago yesterday on January 14. 1949 this wedding write-up was published in the Lexington,NC newspaper The Dispatch. Luther and Viola Adams Owen were the first couple to be married in the current church sanctuary built in 1947. They were married on a snowy Christmas Eve at Fairview - December 24th 1948! ( Mrs. Owen is 92 years old and still an active member of Fairview - Mr Owen Passed in 2010 )

I was honored to attend a meeting with our delegates and share my concerns, prayers, and thoughts on this. Please take a moment to read and pray for our delegates that the grace and compassion of God will fill their hearts during this time.
